Celeste Reserva 2019 from Pago del Cielo, a winery owned by Familia Torres, has been named 'Best of Show Ribera del Duero Reserva' at the renowned Grand International Wine Award Mundus Vini, as it obtained the highest score in its category. This wine has also been awarded with a gold medal.

Mundus Vini, founded by Meininger Verlag publishing group, is one of the most prominent wine competitions. Its 34th edition saw the participation of wines from 45 countries, which were blind tasted by a panel of 250 professionals from 55 countries. The jury's assessment of Celeste Reserva 2019 highlighted aspects such as harmony, complexity and ageing potential.

Crafted by winemaker Juan Ramón García, Celeste Reserva 2019 is a 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) wine, mostly from 40-year-old owned vineyards, planted on limestone slopes and located at the highest levels of the designation of origin, at an altitude of about 900 meters. Small plots cultivated in inlets or small valleys naturally formed in the rock are carefully selected. The location provides good exposure and thermal amplitude, which in turn favour the optimal ripening of the grapes, while the limestone soils give the wine finesse and elegance.

The wine is aged for a minimum of 16 months in partially new French and American oak barrels. 2019 was a cool vintage, with temperatures that were lower than usual, and less rainfall compared to the previous year. It is an intense and majestic wine, very aromatic on the nose and silky on the palate.
