New Issue: Selectus Wines Magazine April 2017
Anniversaries...
When you talk to people around you, opinions differ about whether or not to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays and so on, but I guess it depends on your mood or how significant the date is for you. But here at Selectus Wines, we could not be more delighted to be celebrating the 5th anniversary of our publication.
The first cover of Selectus Wines saw the light of day back in April 2012. For us it was a major challenge, given the climate of the time, right in the middle of one of the worst economic crises of recent years, with all the associated risks. But it was also tremendously exciting to be setting out on an adventure that, thanks to a lot of hard graft, perseverance and discipline, has led us to where we are today.
We will celebrate the anniversary with a special event at some point this year. In fact, we have already held one, which we cover in this issue - an afternoon with Alvaro Palacios.
While still on the theme of anniversaries, last December, Veuve Clicquot celebrated the 200th anniversary of its creation of the riddling rack, and to mark the occasion, we were lucky enough to spend a couple of memorable days at this Champagne House.
We also asked our contributors to come up with something special for this, the 20th issue of the magazine, and they have therefore put together some terrific articles, as you will see in the following pages…
There are bound to be a good number of wineries or wine-related institutions celebrating an important anniversary over 2017 and we wish them all the very best for this year and for the future.
