A Perfect Score for Llopart: Llegat Familiar 2012 receives 100 Points in the 2027 Peñín Guide.
Llopart Llegat Familiar has been awarded 100 points in the 2027 Guía Peñín for the 2012 vintage. Among the nearly 9,400 wines tasted for this edition, only eight achieved the highest possible score, and just two of them are sparkling wines.
First released in 2021, Llegat Familiar has shown a steady progression in the Guía Peñín. The first three vintages assessed received 95 points (vintage 2010), 98 points (v 2011), and now 100 points (v 2012). This achievement adds to the wine's consistent recognition in the Guía de Vins de Catalunya, where it has ranked among the country's highest-rated wines for three consecutive editions, earning distinctions such as Best Traditional Sparkling Wine, Best Xarel·lo Sparkling Wine, and Best Wine of the Guide.
In their tasting notes, the Guía Peñín panel describes Llegat Familiar as "a revelation for the tasters." They note that it "stood alongside the country's finest sparkling wines and emerged on its own merits during the re-tasting." They also highlight its ability to "combine extended ageing with freshness and herbal character, all expressed through remarkable finesse in the mousse and an understated overall elegance," concluding that it is "a wine of surprising harmony and complexity."
Llegat Familiar was first released in 2021 as a tribute from the fifth generation of the Llopart family to Pere and Jacinta Llopart, parents of the winery's current generation of winemakers. It is Llopart's longest-aged Corpinnat, produced exclusively from Viña del Paulino, a Xarel·lo vineyard planted in 1935. The wine is made only in exceptional vintages, with a minimum of 156 months of ageing on the lees, followed by at least six months of bottle ageing after disgorgement.
Llegat Familiar is produced in an extremely limited edition. From the 2012 vintage, only 1,107 bottles were made, of which just 837 will be released next November. The remaining bottles will become part of the Enoteca Familiar, Llopart's family library cellar, where they will continue to mature for years, preserving the winery's liquid heritage before one day returning to the market.
Beyond this outstanding recognition, the 2027 Guía Peñín ratings also highlight the overall strength of Llopart's collection. Original 1887 Enoteca 2011 received 97 points; Ex·Vite 2017 and Ex·Vite 2016 were each awarded 95 points; Leopardi Magnum 2016 received 94 points; and Leopardi 2019 and Panoramic 2021 were both awarded 93 points.
